Snapshot Summary
Get 5% back on Amazon.com, 2% back at gas stations, restaurants, and local transit, AND you get a $150 Amazon Gift Card if you’re a Prime member. A really good card if your go to shopping website is…well, Amazon.
The Full Picture

If you’re a regular Amazon shopper and already pay for Prime, the Amazon Prime Visa is kind of a no-brainer. You get 5% back on all Amazon and Whole Foods purchases, 2% back at restaurants, gas stations, and local transit, and 1% back on everything else. The 5% rate alone can add up fast if you do even a moderate amount of shopping on Amazon (especially around the holidays or big sales...)

There’s no annual fee, but you do need an active Prime membership to qualify, which is effectively the cost of holding this card. That’s not a downside if you’re already a member, but something to keep in mind if you’re considering cancelling Prime. You’ll also get a $150 Amazon gift card instantly upon approval, which is one of the easiest welcome bonuses out there.

Overall, this is a great “set-it-and-forget-it” card for Amazon loyalists. It’s not going to be your go-to for travel or broad dining rewards, but it pulls its weight in the right lane - and if Amazon is your default storefront, it definitely earns its keep.
