Snapshot Summary
The category winner for travel. The $395 annual fee is easily made up via the $300 credits for booking through Capital One Travel, as well as 10,000 Anniversary miles (worth $100) each member year. Plus get access to Capital One Airport Lounges and 2x points on purchases.
The Full Picture

The Capital One Venture X is one of my top travel cards, full stop. The $395 annual fee might seem steep, but you get $300 in travel credits through Capital One Travel, plus 10,000 anniversary miles each year (worth around $100). That already covers the fee if you travel even once or twice a year. Add in lounge access, 2x miles on every purchase, and up to 10x on travel booked through Capital One’s portal, and it starts to look like a steal.

What I really like about the Venture X is how easy it is to use. There are no complicated category trackers or rotating offers to manage. You get strong earning across the board, great transfer partners if you’re into squeezing value from miles, and the card also comes with all the travel protections you’d hope for—trip delay, lost baggage, rental car insurance, the works.

In my view, it’s one of the rare premium cards where the math actually works out in your favor without much effort. If you travel semi-regularly and want a dependable card that quietly gives you serious value, this one’s hard to beat.
